YOUTH Classes – Winter Session 2024


Registration For Winter Session Opens December 1st

Our classes will be held in person at our new studio in the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center (Across from Lens Crafters).

Sessions begin the week of January 8th and end the week of March 11th with a Showcase.

Creative Critters (ages 5-7) with Jessica Nelson

Mondays         3:30PM-4:30PM   $160

For budding actors who are interested in exploring drama, dance, music, singing, visual arts, and creative play. Presented in a supportive, nurturing environment – youngsters are provided an opportunity to sing and dance while playing instruments and creating bold characters. 

 

 

 

 

Youth Acting (ages 8-11) with Tina Kailiponi and Shane Borge

Students explore movement, vocalization, character development and ensemble-building. Through workshop exercises, students begin to develop acting skills needed to create truthful characters.

Thursday         3:30-4:30              $160

 

 

 

 

OnStage Acting (ages 12-18) with Francis Tau’a and Kristi Scott

Students will further their acting skills with a fun approach to different acting styles to help young actors explore different methods of the process in relation to Classic Drama, Contemporary Realism, and Fundamentals of Comedy.

Teen Improv (ages 13-18) with Kristi Scott. 

Wednesdays               3:30-4:45  $220

Students will explore improvisation through games, techniques, and concepts in a fun, supportive environment. This class encourages students to become more spontaneous, creative, playful, and imaginative, all while developing valuable theater and interpersonal skills.

 

 

 

Broadway Kids (ages 8-11) with Jessica Nelson and Nicole Heinlein 

Mondays               4:45-6:15                        $220

Go deeper into the craft of musical theatre performance by learning to convey emotion and character in song, scene and movement. Working on developing these skills individually and as an ensemble, students will learn to analyze scripts and songs for performance, learn correct terminology, and illustrate an understanding of musical theater basics. Students will also be introduced to tap. Students will develop rhythm, style and sound while exploring a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Build flexibility, coordination and speed of movement. NO TAP EXPERIENCE NEEDED. LIMITED NUMBER OF TAP SHOES AVAILABLE.
