Maui OnStage and the Iao
Theatre: A Proposal
From the President of the Board of Directors of Maui OnStage:
Maui OnStage continues to explore options to fully restore, preserve
and maintain the historic Iao Theater building as a venue for a
full spectrum of community activities. The County of Maui is beginning
a community needs assessment to help drive the project forward.
If you would like to read a synopsis of Maui OnStage’s proposal
to the County, please click the link at the end of this article.
You’ll also find information here on the website about renting
the Iao Theater for
your event, how to volunteer with us
and about community performing arts around
the island.
We will continue to assist groups large and small in producing
events in the theater, provide a core of quality programming and
education, and dedicate more time and resources into improving the
current building condition. We welcome your thoughts and ideas on
development of the historic Iao Theater, and encourage you to get
involved through your community organization, Maui OnStage. As a
501c3 nonprofit, volunteers remain the lifeblood of our organization
assisting in productions, as ushers on show nights, on the board
or a committee, in the office and more! Join us and spend your time
in a fun way with an organization that needs and appreciates your
help.
