Maui Fringe Festival 2012

Deadline Extended!

Calling all one-acts! Maui OnStage is proud to announce the second annual
Maui Fringe Festival May 25th – 27th, 2012 at the Historic Iao Theater.

Submissions now being accepted. All submissions must be received by February 7, 2012. Winning entries will be announced late February.

All submissions must include a hard copy of your script, (DVD of performance encouraged, but not required.) as well as a $20 submission fee in the form of a check or money order. No online submissions.

If accepted, submission fee of $500 due by March 1, 2012. Entry fee entitles you to extensive free publicity and marketing, tickets, programs, plus house and tech crew for three performances in a 375 seat Historic 1920’s era theater on the beautiful Island of Maui. Writers / producers are responsible for all additional production costs including travel.

All genres are encouraged, including but not limited to alternative performance i.e. dance only, pantomime, etc.

RULES

I. 2 entries will be reserved for Hawaii production companies

II. The Maui Fringe Festival seeks a variety of genres

III. The Maui Fridge Festival seeks of variety of productions based on geography

IV. Entries will be paid in one lump some, a 50% share of THEIR individual box office, by June 1, 2012

V. Maui OnStage retains 100% of monies generated from t-shirt, festival passes, and concession sales.

VI. The Maui Fringe Festival will do all general public relations. All entries are encouraged to do additional pr for their individual productions, not limited to but including, posters, fliers, press releases, etc.

VII. Each individual production will be responsible for all travel costs and personal expenses, not limited to but including, plane fare, rental car, housing, meals, etc. Maui OnStage will be available as a liaison in assisting you to find affordable accommodations.

VIII. Maui OnStage reserves the right to refuse submissions and/or entry in submissions not received by the previously listed deadlines.

IX. All productions must be simple one acts not exceeding 60 minutes in length nor requiring excessive technical or set design needs.

X. Winning productions will be judged by a panel of impartial jurors from the Maui media. 1st prize $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $100.

XI. $20 submission fee required per script, $500 entry fee if accepted.

XII. Production costs for actors, directors, set pieces etc. will be sole responsibility of writer / producer. (entrant)

XIII. Feel free to contact a Maui OnStage representative for questions before submitting your script.

XIV. Once entrant has paid the entry fee; entrant shall have no right to receive a refund for the amount of the fee. In the event entrant cancels their appearance in the festival, Maui OnStage will retain the $500 entry fee.
