Michael Pulliam (Production Associate) Likes to think he was “born in a trunk in the Paramount Theater in Pocatello, Idaho.” In reality it was a hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He first fell in love with the idea of a life in the theater after seeing Ben Vareen perform in “Pippin.” Active in community and professional theater for thirty years his previous “homes” include The Cable Car Theater (SF), Steppenwolf (Chicago), Victory Garden (Chicago), the Annoyance Theater (Chicago), the Friars Club of Beverly Hills and for the past four seasons here at the Historic Iao Theater on Maui. A jack-of-all-trades, Michael occasionally performs but prefers the biz side: promoting, marketing and managing special events and MOS main stage productions. In addition to his past theater company positions he is the author of three plays produced in SF, Chicago and LA; director of two short subjects screened at the SF Film Festival and the Tokyo Film Festival; has worked for several Emmy winning and nominated television production companies; and writes a weekly theater column for the Maui News. Michael is the Festival Director of the Maui Fringe Festival and he is most passionate about brand new plays. After a lengthy gypsy life in the big cities he feels very blessed to settle down with his Maui theater Ohana, here at the Historic Iao Theater!
