Staff

The Maui OnStage Staff Members:

Alexis Dascoulias (Executive Director) joined Maui OnStage in June, 2007. Bringing with her a rich history in theatre and education, Alexis is proud to serve as the Past President on the Wailuku Community Association and act as the Youth Programs Chair for the Rotary Club of Kahului. Prior to moving to Maui, she served as the Executive Director for Seacoast Repertory Theatre (SRT) and was the President for the Board of Trustees for Cocheco Arts and Technology Academy: a Public Charter High School. Alexis was also the Theatre Department Head at Dover High School (in NH) and she served as the Artistic Director for Hackmatack Playhouse in Maine as well as the Executive Director for Piscataqua Youth Players in New Hampshire. Alexis has worked as a producer, teacher, director and manager for many New England theatres including: Seaglass Performing Arts, American Stage Festival, The Bell Center for the Arts, Portsmouth Academy of Performing Arts and Garrison Players. She is currently the camp director for Camp CenterStage, a two week performing arts camp in Maine. Her goal is to bring this camp program to Hawaii in 2012.

Alexis has directed The Wizard of Oz, Godspell, Chicago, The King and I, The Sound of Music and To Kill A Mockingbird for Maui OnStage. Other directing credits include; The Sound of Music, Once On This Island and Seussical (Seacoast Repertory Theater), The Nerd and Godspell (Hackmatack Playhouse) as well as productions of Oliver, The Miracle Worker, The Odd Couple (Female Version), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Fiddler on the Roof and Quilters (all in New England).

Steven Dascoulias (Production / Facilities Manager) Steven works as an actor, director and musical director. Directing credits include RENT, On Golden Pond, Annie Get Your Gun, You Can't Take It With You and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Musical direction credits include The Wizard of Oz, SHOUT, Sweet Charity, Oklahoma and Godspell. Acting credits include Max in The Producers,  The King in The King & I (Maui OnStage), Inspector Javert in Les Miserables, Lenny in Rumors (Hackmatack Playhouse,) Albin in La Cage Aux Folles,  Charlie Martin in Another Summer (Seacoast Repertory Theatre,) Kodaly in She Loves Me  The Boss in Side Show(The Lyric Stage Company of Boston,) and Murray in The Odd Couple with Sherman Hemsley (The Stoneham Theatre).

Dawn Kealoha Harper (Resident Sound Designer / Engineer) is a Hawaiian native and got her start doing sound for her church, New Hope Maui, eight years ago. She earned a recording engineering / music productions diploma from the Audio Institute of America. Her Maui OnStage shows credits include RENT, The Producers, Chicago, SHOUT, The Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Story, The Spirit of the Iao, Once on this Island, The King & I, The Foreigner, Blithe Spirit and The Full Monty, The Sound of Music and Cats (to name a few!) Other show credits include music concerts with Kealaokala Records, Steve Zuwala and Maui Civic Light Opera.
